Max Verstappen 2028 | Contract Details | Future

'Securing the Title, then the Bag'

On the afternoon of 4th March, 2022 it was announced that the F1 defending champion, Max Verstappen will continue to drive for the Red Bull Racing F1 team until 2028. This comes as no surprise to fans, the paddock and surely even the driver himself. There was never any talk of him being replaced and him signing the contract was imminent.

It was always just a question of when and not if he will sign the deal. The contract details include:
  • A whopping $50m a year salary which will see him become the highest paid driver on the grid, surpassing Hamilton's current deal worth $30m.
  • The deal is a 5 year contract that runs until 2028.
  • His previous deal ran until 2023, thus there were anyways 2 years left for him before his deal ran out.
  • This contract commits Verstappen's prime years to Red Bull. He will be 31 by the end of the contract.
What remains to be seen is how Verstappen and Red Bull cope with the contract and and regulations respectively. Lets hope for the best and our prediction for Verstappen is that he will finish his career with 3 titles to his name.
Who do you think will win the 2022 F-1 season, let us know in the comments.
