FPL 2021-22
It has been about a month since the Premier League finally returned with Brentford hosting Arsenal. Thus, we thought it would be ideal for us to give some tips for the fantasy premier league season too.
To begin with, most of us know that all FPL players begin with a budget of £100 million with which they are supposed to pick a team of 15 players. These players should include 3 forwards, 5 midfielders, 5 defenders and 2 goalkeepers.
So in this article we will show 10 top picks every manager must have, 10 differential picks you could take for your team and some players you should not even look at.
Top Picks:
*Undisclosed price for Lukaku at the moment
The above players are carefully picked making sure that they are all starters in their teams and have been top point earning performers in previous seasons. Some Honorable mentions could be Kevin de Bruyne (12m), Virgil van Dijk (6.5m), Andy Robertson (7m), Ivan Toney (6.5m) and James Maddison (7.5m). The sole reason for not including van Dijk and de Bruyne in the main table is injury. The Liverpool defender has just returned from a major injury and it would be advisible to watch him play a few games first and then make a call. On the other hand de Bruyne has just had an ankle injury and should be scouted the same way as van Dijk.
Differential Picks:
Honorable mentions for differential picks are Burnley's Chris Wood (7m), Troy Deeney (5.5m), Leon Baily (6.5m), Jack Grealish (8m). Jack Grealish has tough competition for his spot in the team and for this sole reason is in the differentials list of players.
Players to Ignore:
In the case of the forwards; all 3 of them namely Jesus, Martial and Firmino rarely score or asssist and on top of that they have a very high price justifying why they should be avoided.
The midfielders Kante, Thiago and Dallas almost never score and should be thus avoided. Kante has more defensie duties, Thiago is mostly a build up player and Dallas is also defensive minded although occasionally scoring.
As for the defenders, Christensen along with all Chelsea Centre-Backs is a tricky option as you never know who Tuchel is going to start. Once the season sets in we will have a better idea of which Chelsea CB's to pick. Laporte is no longer a fixed starter for Man City and should be avoided unless City have injuries or Pep brings him back as a starter. As for Jan Bednarek he has proved to be absolutely shambolic since their 9-0 loss to Leicester last season and shoudld also be avoided.
Finally the keepers, Areola and Fabianski are both top class and playing for West Ham. So it is tough to know who is the starter. Like in the Chelsea CB situation this too should be resolved with time.
Finally one should also remember to avoid Man City Midfielders as there are to many world class players in the CDM,CM and CAM position and you surely do not want the 'Pep Roullete' to hit you.
Conclusion:
Just play smart and play wise don't buy players just because you adore or love them. Players who will make a difference to your team are the ones you must get, and remember to not just fill up one position with expensive players; distribute it.
