"Footballers as Crypto Currency 20-21"
Since Crypto Currencies and Crypto drops are on the mouth of every person into investing we thought about making a comparison of differant crypto currencies' performance similar to a certain footballer this past season.
Do note that the performance of the currencies are only analysed over the past year for the purpose of this article and not its's all time stats or recent ones.
We have compared 5 crypto currencies namely; Ethereum, Algornad, Doge Coin, Tether and Cardano
1) Ethereum - N' Golo Kante
Up until January, Ethereum was valued mostly between $220 - $650 after which from January till now it's lowest has been on 1st January ($746) and highest has been on 12th May($4,132)! This marked difference is similar to that of Kante. Till January, Kante was just returning from injury and getting re settled with Lampard. He made some progress in form but very slowly. However, after the arrival of Tuchel Kantes game has suddenly improved having defense like his 15-16 season and attack like that under Maurizio Sarri. So much so that he even started receiving Balon d' Or shouts from fans.
2) Algornad - Jesse Lingard
Algornad is a crypto currency which was founded in late 2020 before which it was non-existent, Lingard too at Manchester United was virtually non-existent.What else is common between the 2? Both have outstanding performances since January with Algornad rarely falling below $1 (except in the recent crash which also was a lesser fall than other cryptocurrencies) and Lingard being one of the best offensive mids in the world after January and being nominated for Player of the month 3 times (Won it in April) which helped West Ham reach the Europa League Spots.
3) Doge Coin - Ilkay Gundogan
Doge Coin was founded in 2013 after the famous Doge meme on social networks. However it has been in the news only lately after Elon Musk encouraged the currency 2021. This is why it had peaked for a short period of about 2-3 months at which time it also was the fastest growing crypto on a daily basis.However, in May after Elon Musks set of tweets which caused the crypto market to crash doge also fell from an average of $0.5-$0.7 to $0.3-$0.4.
Ilkay Gundogan too was considered an average player before this season but when Man City tailsman Kevin de Bruyne got injured Gudogan was unstoppable for 2-3 months scoring goals and assisting every single week never once failing. But soon Gundogans Elon Musk, Kevin de Bruyne returned and his performances dropped not to as low as before but still better than average.
Though both, Doge and Gundogan dropped of at the end of the season both are still considered good investments and players likewise. They are also tipped to do well in the future. Gundogan could be a top 5 player in the Premiership by 2022 and Doge could touch $1 by then.
4) Tether - Robert Lewandowski / Harry Kane
Robert Lewandowski and Harry Kane have been the epitome of consistency this season. They have 57 and 50 Goals+Assists this season and have never really had an off day on the pitch. Kane won the Golden Boot and Playmaker of the year award(in PL) and Lewandowski broke the goalscoring record set by Gerd Mueller by scoring 41 goals in the Bundesliga. However, both were robbed by their respective leagues for the Player of The Season.
Tether while has not been "Crypto of the season" material it has been the most consistent Crypto always being in the bracket of $0.998-$1.002 and rarely going under or over this range.
5) Cardano - Lionel Messi
Come 2021, Lionel Messi has arguably been the best in the world with Lewandowski having 52 Goals and assists. While his season has been impressive he was in the doldrums until November and was labelled 'finished and washed up'. He was rarely scoring and when he did it was mostly a penalty but since then he has improved a lot after Ansu Fati who was carrying Barca till then got injured. Since December and January he has been a different beast altogether. To put that in context; he was averaging 47 minutes per G/A in 2012 when he scored 91 goals in a year. He's been averaging 45 minutes this season!!!
Cardano on the other hand started 2021 at around $0.3 and slowly started to peak at well over $2.3 which is an incredibly great return just like that of Messi in 2021. Also, after crossing the $1 mark in February it dipped below only once a few days later and has been above $1 since.
